The 4 Pillars of DCPCA
Our community thrives on four enduring values that guide all our cultural celebrations and philanthropic activities.
1. Connect
Welcoming new Bengali families settling along OMR, Sholinganallur, Medavakkam, and across Chennai. Building deep friendships through community picnics, sports tournaments, and ladies' cultural addas.
2. Celebrate
Hosting grand cultural celebrations including the 6-day Sharadotsav Durga Puja, Kali Puja, Saraswati Puja with children's Haate Khori, and Poila Boishakh (Bengali New Year).
3. Preserve
Preserving our language, classical arts, and timeless traditions through children's Bengali language reading clubs, Rabindra Sangeet choral groups, drama productions, and heritage exhibitions.
4. Contribute
Creating concrete avenues for social impact: student scholarships, meal sponsorships for Vishranthi Old Age Home, medical support for cancer patients, and educational drives for New Hope Children.
Past Social Outreach & Community Drives
Dakshin Chennai Prabasi Cultural Association actively channels community goodwill toward child welfare, elder care, and national integration across South Chennai.
New Hope & New Life Children Home Drive
Perumbakkam is home to over 100+ children (aged 3 to 20 years) residing at New Hope & New Life Home. DCPCA members and volunteers come together to fulfill essential daily living and educational needs by donating monthly groceries, school supplies, towels, bed sheets, floor mats, and 2 ceiling fans, bringing smiles and holistic care to the children.
Vishranthi Home for Aged Destitute Women
Sharing festive joy with the elderly mothers and destitute women at Vishranthi Home, Palavakkam. On the auspicious occasion of Vijaya Dashami, DCPCA sponsored a full day of wholesome meals for all residents. Mr. Jayapal Menon (Secretary, DCPCA) and the CSR team visited the home in person, handed over the contribution cheque, and spent heartfelt moments in fellowship and care.
One India, One DCPCA!! Independence Day Drive
In a spirited display of patriotism and unity, Dakshin Chennai Prabasi Cultural Association organized a flagship "One India, One DCPCA" drive to commemorate India's Independence Day. Uniting diverse cultural communities, diaspora families, and youth across South Chennai in patriotic songs, tricolor tributes, cultural exchange, and mutual social support.
